1. Cook pasta according to package directions
2. While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large pan
3. Add minced garlic and cook until golden and fragrant
4. Drain pasta, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water
5. Add pasta to the pan with garlic butter
6. Toss well, adding pasta water as needed
7. Season with salt and pepper
8. Serve immediately with Parmesan if desired
